{"id":496155,"date":"2026-10-14T20:14:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T20:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/496155\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T20:14:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T20:14:00","slug":"2-chp-officers-injured-while-investigating-deadly-i-80-crash-near-fairfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/496155\/","title":{"rendered":"2 CHP officers injured while investigating deadly I-80 crash near Fairfield"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 19-year-old driver died in a crash on Interstate 80 near Fairfield Tuesday night, and two California Highway Patrol officers investigating that crash were injured about an hour later when a Tesla hit their patrol car.<\/p>\n<p>The first crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on eastbound I-80 west of Air Base Parkway.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said a 19-year-old San Pablo man driving a Honda Civic lost control for an unknown reason and was then hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 47-year-old Sacramento man.<\/p>\n<p>The Civic driver was taken to a hospital, where he died.
