Trump wants Senate to cancel August recess <\/a><\/p>\n\u201cJust everybody who\u2019s enjoying the fact that we\u2019re honoring us Veterans, that\u2019s about the best part of it,\u201d said Patrick Schmitt, a Vietnam Navy Veteran.<\/p>\n
Luis and Nathan Ramirez, a father and son Army duo, are proud to be celebrating Veterans Day together.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels too good to be here and so good to be with the people\u2026just to say hi,\u201d said Luis.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt means lot. You know, following my father\u2019s footsteps, it means a lot to me,\u201d said Nathan. \u201cIt\u2019s always been my dream to serve my country and finally getting the honor to do it has been amazing, but without vets like him and other vets before my time, I wouldn\u2019t have been able to have the chance to serve as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Kern County Nurse\u2019s Honor Guard also attended the parade to pay tribute to our community\u2019s Veterans, along with the nurses and medical professionals who have helped them.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor us\u2026I think it means everything, right? Yeah, we just, feel so honored to be apart of the patriotism the Veterans. We honor our Veterans every opportunity we can and we try to participate in as many civic opportunities as we can, so that people know we have a free service, and it\u2019s a it\u2019s a tribute to the nurses,\u201d said Karen Coughenour.<\/p>\n
Another year of celebration, remembrance and profound respect has taken place for those who have served in Kern County.<\/p>\n
