Fall Into Self Care, a free community event Saturday, Oct. 17, at Her Beauty Lounge in northwest Fresno.<\/a><\/p>\nThe event runs from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at 4321 N. West Ave., Suite 107, featuring beauty demonstrations, local vendors, skin care education, raffles and refreshments. The first 15 guests will receive complimentary self-care bags.<\/p>\n
For Neal, the event is an opportunity to promote year-round self-care while helping independent beauty professionals connect with new customers.<\/p>\n
Fresno beauty businesses collaborate during slower season<\/p>\n
Neal says the idea emerged from conversations with clients about maintaining their skin care routines as summer ended.<\/p>\n
A discussion with a Mary Kay consultant about seasonal products helped inspire the event, which Neal saw as an opportunity to bring businesses and customers together.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen you have the fall where we\u2019re getting into the slower months and you still want to bring revenue into the shop,\u201d Neal says.<\/p>\n
For independent service providers who depend on repeat appointments and referrals, remaining visible can help maintain business during seasonal changes.<\/p>\n
Neal has previously organized events including a Galentine\u2019s Day gathering, a cocktail-making workshop and Friendsgiving. This will be her first fall event focused on self-care.<\/p>\n
Seven businesses, one shared customer base<\/p>\n
The event brings together businesses offering different services, allowing participating entrepreneurs to introduce themselves to one another\u2019s customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just different types of services that we don\u2019t offer here, but they\u2019re able to bring their clientele here and then they\u2019ll be able to see our clientele. Basically, we could just share clientele,\u201d Neal says.<\/p>\n
Participating businesses include:<\/p>\n
T Monique Beauty Bar LLC: Neal\u2019s business specializes in Brazilian and full-body waxing, intimate skin care and client education.<\/p>\n
Modern Face Beauty: Offering tiny tattoos and specializing in cosmetic tattooing, including microblading and lip blushing.<\/p>\n
Mary Kay: Beauty consultant Robyn Haskins will showcase skin care and beauty products.<\/p>\n
Krafty As A Mother LLC: Featuring handcrafted merchandise and accessories.<\/p>\n
Tr\u00e8s Chic Extension: Cosmetologist Anita Washington will showcase hairstyling services and extensions.<\/p>\n
Nails by Zha: Highlighting manicure and nail care services.<\/p>\n
Angelic Touch by Jade: Featuring cosmetic services, including teeth whitening and beauty enhancements.<\/p>\n
Neal says the variety allows customers to discover services they might not otherwise encounter while helping vendors expand their reach.<\/p>\n
Education builds customer relationships<\/p>\n
As a licensed esthetician specializing in Brazilian and full-body waxing, Neal plans to conduct live demonstrations to address concerns about the procedure.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of people are scared of getting waxed because of the stories and the videos that they\u2019ve seen on social media,\u201d Neal says.<\/p>\n
The demonstrations will cover skin preparation, wax application and aftercare, including ways customers can manage common concerns such as ingrown hairs and skin irritation.<\/p>\n
Neal believes education helps build trust and encourages clients to maintain their appointments.<\/p>\n
She is also developing her own aftercare products, including an ingrown hair serum and oil, with hopes of launching the line next year.<\/p>\n
The products would be available in her shop and online, providing another potential revenue source beyond beauty appointments.<\/p>\n
For now, Neal hopes Saturday\u2019s event will strengthen connections between local entrepreneurs and encourage customers to maintain their self-care routines year-round.<\/p>\n
\u201cSelf-care is the best care,\u201d Neal says.<\/p>\n
