SAN JOSE \u2014 A suspect has been arrested in connection with an unprovoked stabbing last month in San Jose, police said.<\/p>\n

The incident happened Sept. 26 near the intersection of Branham Lane and Kingspark Drive, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release Thursday.<\/p>\n

An investigation revealed the victim was walking in the area when the suspect grabbed and stabbed him multiple times, Shih said, adding that the victim did not know the suspect.<\/p>\n

Shih said the suspect left the scene and the victim went to an area hospital to seek treatment for his injuries.<\/p>\n

Using public safety camera footage<\/a>, detectives identified the suspect as 30-year-old Paul Marquez of San Jose, Shih said. A warrant was issued for his arrest.<\/p>\n

Shih said Marquez was arrested Oct. 3 in San Jose on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail.<\/p>\n

Due to the nature of the attack, detectives believe there may be other victims, Shih said.<\/p>\n
