As longtime South Bay residents know, Valley Fair dates to the late 1950s, when it was an open-air shopping center. And See\u2019s Candies has been there since April 1957, though the location of the shop reportedly has moved over the decades.<\/p>\n
That means See\u2019s in 2027 will reach its 70th year of selling premium, California-made chocolates, peanut brittle and more at the Santa Clara\/San Jose site.<\/p>\n
However, there\u2019s a 40th anniversary to highlight now \u2014 40 years at the enclosed mall, now owned and operated by Westfield \u2014 so See\u2019s Candies will hold a celebratory bash at the store on Friday, Oct. 16.<\/p>\n
And let\u2019s face it, See\u2019s devotees won\u2019t care how many years it\u2019s been as long as there\u2019s a free Bordeaux or Scotchmallow to be had.<\/p>\n
Starting at 10 a.m., the first 100 customers in line will receive free tote bags. Throughout the day, See\u2019s sales associates will hand out samples, and other promotions and giveaways are planned.<\/p>\n
Will there be another celebration for See\u2019s 70th on Stevens Creek Boulevard? Time will tell.<\/p>\n
