The Clean Waters Education Foundation will host its inaugural Clean N Green Fest in Carson this weekend, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about the work the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts do to treat and conserve water in the South Bay.<\/p>\n
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility, 24501 S. Figueroa St., the largest wastewater plant in Los Angeles County \u2014 treating more than 200 million gallons of water per day. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the massive facility and see how water treatment works. There will also be tours of the Pure Water Napolitano Innovation Center and the Bixby Marshland.<\/p>\n
The event will also feature a mobile aquarium, live music, face painting and activities for all ages.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are holding this event so that (the community) can better understand their impact on their environment,\u201d said Michael Chee, Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts spokesperson. \u201cIt\u2019s all about being protectors of the environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
This event is free and open to all ages. Parking will be located off site at the Wilmington Athletic Complex\u2019s parking lot, 1700 S. Figueroa St. There will be a shuttle service to transport guests to and from the event.
