DETROIT \u2014 This is the best hockey that Ryan Warsofsky has seen Sam Dickinson<\/a> play.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not lip service from the San Jose Sharks head coach: Dickinson played a career-high 24:39 in Thursday\u2019s 3-2 shootout victory over the Nashville Predators. Dickinson actually led the team in ice-time.<\/p>\n

The sophomore defenseman\u2019s previous career-high was 21:42 last season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s earned those minutes,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cHe\u2019s assertive with his skating and getting up the ice and is playing towards his strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dickinson\u2019s healthy scratches to start the season seem so long ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cA level of urgency in his game has taken a rise,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cHe\u2019s more confident in making plays. He\u2019s done a really good job of playing shift to shift. That\u2019s the mindset you got to have when you\u2019re trying to find your way in this league, kind of simplify it a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dickinson is starting to stack games: Yesterday was his fourth solid effort in a row.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know what we\u2019re getting shift to shift,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cHis consistency has taken a step in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s still quite early in the 20-year-old blueliner\u2019s career. It\u2019s just four games. In all, it feels like the 2024 San Jose Sharks\u2019 No. 11 pick is still just scratching the surface of his potential.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s good to see, after those stunning scratches to open the season, the young defenseman back on track.<\/p>\n

Hello, Nurse?<\/p>\n

Darnell Nurse<\/a> was a full participant in Friday\u2019s practice at Belfor Training Center.<\/p>\n

Officially, Nurse is still considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury. The veteran defenseman suffered this injury in a 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s probably a game-time decision,\u201d Warsofsky said of Nurse\u2019s status for Saturday\u2019s tilt at the Detroit Red Wings.<\/p>\n

Lines?<\/p>\n

For what it\u2019s worth, Nurse wasn\u2019t on the first run of San Jose Sharks defensemen during drills this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Luca Cagnoni<\/a> and Nolan Allan<\/a>, who both performed admirably in Nurse\u2019s absence yesterday, skated ahead of Nurse.<\/p>\n
