{"id":499489,"date":"2026-10-17T19:10:11","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T19:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/499489\/"},"modified":"2026-10-17T19:10:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T19:10:11","slug":"man-shot-and-killed-at-potrero-hill-public-housing-complex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/499489\/","title":{"rendered":"Man shot and killed at Potrero Hill public housing complex"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man was shot and killed on Friday evening at Potrero Hill Terrace and Annex, a public housing complex, according to the San Francisco Police Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shooting is the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/02\/s-f-shooting-leaves-one-dead-two-wounded-in-potrero-hill\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">second this year<\/a> at the housing project, an approximately 600-unit hillside complex in the midst of redevelopment. In February, <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/03\/sf-potrero-hill-homicide-cornelius-wigfall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cornelius Wigfall Jr.<\/a> was shot and killed, and a child wounded, while he was sitting in his car at 25th and Dakota streets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to SFPD, officers responded at approximately 8:38 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the 1100 block of Wisconsin Street, which borders Starr King Elementary School.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics he died at the scene, the department said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Potrero Annex Terrace is one of the few remaining public housing complexes in San Francisco and is in the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/07\/photo-essay-potrero-hill-terrace-and-annex-demolished-after-years-long-wait\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">process of being torn down<\/a> and redeveloped as a mixed-income residence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a breaking news story.
