Few places in Los Angeles are quite like Hollywood Forever Cemetery<\/a> for a Friday evening of live music, especially when the band taking the stage is Geese<\/a>, whose wonderfully strange and unpredictable sound feels right at home among the graves.<\/p>\n

As the sun dipped behind the palm trees Friday, Oct. 16, concertgoers spread blankets across the cemetery\u2019s Fairbanks Lawn, unpacked picnics and enjoyed drinks beneath the moon. It was an almost idyllic setting for the New York City-bred rock band\u2019s second performance of a three-night sold-out run, and another reminder of just how far Geese has come in the past year.<\/p>\n

For a band that\u2019s generated so much conversation lately, Geese had surprisingly little to say. Frontman Cameron Winter briefly checked in with the crowd, asking how everyone was doing. The response was a deafening roar.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, touch\u00e9,\u201d he replied. And that was about it.<\/p>\n

The band, which took the stage promptly at its scheduled 8:10 p.m. start, wasted little time moving through a 14-song set that opened with \u201cTaxes\u201d and included \u201cCobra,\u201d \u201cHusbands,\u201d \u201cGetting Killed\u201d and \u201c100 Horses.\u201d There were no lengthy introductions or speeches, just Geese doing what it does best: making music that refuses to sit comfortably within any particular genre.<\/p>\n

Alternative rock? Yes. Indie? Absolutely. Psychedelic? At times. But trying to describe Geese\u2019s sound almost feels like missing the point. It\u2019s the kind of music that has to be heard to be understood, and even then, it doesn\u2019t always offer a correct answer.<\/p>\n

Although Geese has been making music for years, the release of \u201cGetting Killed\u201d in 2025 helped propel the band into an entirely different limelight. That momentum carried into 2026 with a BRIT Award win for International Group of the Year and performances across both weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival<\/a>, where the group drew major crowds.<\/p>\n

Every year, Coachella<\/a> seems to have a handful of artists whose festival appearances help launch them into an entirely new stratosphere. Geese was already riding a notable wave, but its desert performances only added to the growing fascination.<\/p>\n

The attention has become so intense that online debates have questioned whether the band\u2019s rise was the product of an industry plant or even a so-called \u201cpsyop,\u201d particularly following reports about digital marketing campaigns promoting its music. The band has since addressed the speculation, but whatever one makes of the internet discourse, the thousands of fans turning up to see Geese perform are very real.<\/p>\n

Even without much stage banter, the band kept its focus squarely on the music, slipping a brief snippet of the Ramones<\/a>\u2018 \u201cNow I Wanna Sniff Some Glue\u201d into \u201c2122\u201d before continuing through songs including \u201cCowboy Nudes,\u201d \u201cCrusades\u201d and \u201cBow Down.\u201d The evening eventually closed with \u201cTrinidad\u201d as the encore.<\/p>\n

But while Winter and his bandmates kept the conversation to a minimum, the audience had plenty to work with. Throughout the evening, inflatable balloons shaped as actual geese bounced above the crowd, a few adventurous fans went crowd-surfing and those gathered near the front turned a small section of the lawn into a miniature mosh pit. Even among the graves of Hollywood Forever, there was no shortage of life missing.<\/p>\n

And then there was the singing. Fans belted out lyrics with such intensity and devotion that, at times, it felt less like a rock concert and more like a church service, with Winter leading a congregation that seemed to know every word by heart.<\/p>\n
