Stranger Things is back on everyone’s minds\u2014the first four episodes of the final season will drop on Netflix on November 26\u2014so it’s no surprise that L.A. is celebrating with a free, super-fun activation that will take over\u00a0a four-mile stretch of Melrose Avenue on Sunday, November 23 from 9am to 3pm.<\/p>\n
Sponsored by Netflix\u00a0and\u00a0CicLAvia\u2014Melrose Ave, the “One Last Ride” event invites participants to show up in full 1980s gear (leg warmers! Neon! Windbreakers!) or, perhaps, opt for a demogorgon costume?<\/p>\n
Whatever you choose to don, get ready for some fan games, giveaways, live entertainment, a ton of merch for sale and a general sense of frivolity as everyone comes together on a car-free, shutdown part of the city.<\/p>\n
Fully embracing some of the show’s most defining scenes, the organizers have also partnered with local bike shop JustRideLa to offer a limited number of bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis. You’ll want to show up early to secure yourself one, of course, or just bring your own (keep in mind that, according to the\u00a0event’s official website<\/a>, “anyone under 18 must wear a helmet if they are on a bike, skateboard, scooter, skates or a passenger in a child seat.”)<\/p>\n Once there, make sure to snag a quest book from one of the three different hubs set up on site. Find them all on Melrose Avenue: one between Vermont and Berendo, another between Plymouth and Windsor, and a third between Genesee and Fairfax. Each book features a map highlighting all trivia stops, special offers at local businesses, photo ops and a few other surprises.\u00a0<\/p>\n
