ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2013 Closing out the fall portion of the 2026-27 season, the Oakland men’s golf team travels to Dayton, Ohio, to compete in the Dayton Flyer Invitation on Oct. 19-20. With both the men’s and women’s teams competing at the NCR Country Club, the men will play on the South Course, a par-71 layout measuring 7,055 yards.<\/p>\n
The Golden Grizzlies return to the Dayton Flyer Invitational for the second consecutive year. Senior Robert Burns<\/a> led the team at last year’s event, tying for 16th with a 218 (+5), while Oakland finished 10th.<\/p>\n A shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET on Monday for the first 36 holes, followed by\u00a0the final 18 holes Tuesday. The 13-team field features host Dayton, Ball State, Belmont, Butler, Cleveland State, DePaul, Illinois State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Oakland, Ohio, St. Thomas, and Wright State.<\/p>\n The Dayton Flyer Invitational marks Oakland’s third invitational in as many weeks. The Golden Grizzlies finished ninth at last week’s Purdue Fall Invitational, which used a “play six, count five” format. Redshirt senior Jack Zubkus<\/a> led Oakland by tying for 14th with a one-over 217.<\/p>\n Senior Matteo Rocco<\/a> and freshmen Noah Andry<\/a> and Marshall Morency<\/a> will join Zubkus and Burns in the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
