SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — Three people, including a child, were injured Saturday afternoon when a small plane crashed onto a roadway in Northern California, according to fire officials.<\/p>\n

The crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. near Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive in San Jose, where a single-engine propeller plane went down on the street.<\/p>\n

The San Jose Fire Department said two adults and one child were aboard the plane. All three were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane is a 1968 Cessna 177A Cardinal registered to Flying Twenty Inc., a nonprofit flight club for San Jose State University students, alumni and faculty.<\/p>\n

No vehicles on the ground were involved in the crash, according to the fire department. Officials said a minor fuel spill was contained and absorbed.<\/p>\n

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
