Police are searching for a man who swiped roughly $100,000 worth of chains from a downtown Los Angeles jewelry store.<\/p>\n
The theft was reported Saturday at about 11 a.m. at Del Amo Jewelry Inc., according to the store owner, Frank. The owner said the man asked to see a 14-carat Cuban chain and was shown a handful of options by an employee behind a jewelry counter.<\/p>\n
Surveillance footage from the shop, which is located near the corner of 6th Street and Broadway, showed a man dressed in all black speaking with two employees.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter looking a few minutes, he grabbed the chains, snatched the chains, grabs it and runs away, and nobody can catch him,\u201d Frank, who asked not to disclose his last name, said.<\/p>\n
The store\u2019s employees were unharmed during the encounter, but the thief remains on the loose.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he brings back the whole merchandise, I will let him go,\u201d Frank said. \u201cBut if not, I would definitely be going after him.\u201d<\/p>\n
