ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2013 The Oakland University women’s golf team closes out its fall schedule at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Oct. 19-20. With both the men’s and women’s teams competing\u00a0in Dayton, Ohio, the women will play on the NCR Country Club North Course, a par-70 layout measuring 5,880 yards.<\/p>\n
The Golden Grizzlies return to the NCR Country Club for the first time since the 2018-19 season, when the team placed third at the Dayton Fall Invitational. Oakland carded a 36-hole total of 594 (+34), finishing behind champion Youngstown State and runner-up Findlay.<\/p>\n
Competition begins on Monday at 9:00 a.m. ET with a shotgun start, followed by the final round on Tuesday. Twelve teams will be participating, including host Dayton, Butler, Central Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, IU Indianapolis, Loyola Chicago, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), and Xavier.<\/p>\n
In their last tournament, the Golden Grizzlies finished fourth at the Coyote Creek Classic. Sophomore Logan Bentley<\/a> won the event with a 54-hole total of 225 (+9), earning the first collegiate victory of her career. Freshman Hunter Edwards<\/a> also finished in the top five, placing third with a 228 (+12).<\/p>\n Oakland will once again bring its full team, with Bentley, Edwards, senior Lily Bargamian<\/a>, freshman Avery Manning<\/a>, and sophomore Channing Hagen<\/a> making up the lineup.
