John Scofield<\/a> is bringing the fretboard fireworks to the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

The acclaimed jazz guitarist<\/a> is set to perform three nights \u2014 Oct. 30-Nov. 1 \u2014 at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This time through town, the three-time Grammy Award-winning axe man will be revisiting his highly influential electric songbook in a project cleverly (and descriptively) dubbed John Scofield\u2019s<\/a> Electrospective.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the Electrospective Tour, we play tunes of mine that are more electric and groove oriented rather than straight ahead jazz,\u201d Scofield said by email. \u201cThe band is stellar and it is so much fun to play with these great musicians. We\u2019ve already been out for a week and every night has been fantastic \u2014 and different!\u201d<\/p>\n

Joining Scofield in this all-star quartet are bassist Oteil Burbridge (a jam master known for his work with Dead & Company, Tedeschi Trucks Band and the Allman Brothers), keyboardist Larry Goldings (a Grammy-nominated artist who has released more than two-dozen albums as a band leader) and drummer Adam Deitch (a Grammy winner with the group Lettuce).<\/p>\n

Sco and company reportedly plan to reimagine tunes from a number of fan-favorite albums \u2014 1987\u2019s \u201cBlue Matter,\u201d 1997\u2019s \u201cA Go Go\u201d and 2002\u2019s \u201c\u00dcberjam\u201d \u2014 as well as play similarly electric new material.<\/p>\n

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30-31 and 7 p.m. Nov. 1 and tickets start at $50, sfjazz.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
