{"id":503789,"date":"2026-10-22T05:06:10","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T05:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/503789\/"},"modified":"2026-10-22T05:06:10","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T05:06:10","slug":"woman-fatally-struck-by-big-rig-in-san-pedro-hit-and-run-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/503789\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman fatally struck by big rig in San Pedro hit-and-run \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police are seeking the public\u2019s help identifying the driver of a tractor-trailer that struck and killed a woman before fleeing the scene early Wednesday in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/?s=san+pedro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Pedro,<\/a> authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Channel and Gaffey streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the tractor-trailer was stopped at a red light before making a left turn to head south on Gaffey Street. As the truck turned, its right rear tires struck the 47-year-old woman.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman dead.<\/p>\n<p>The driver fled without stopping to provide assistance, as required by law, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The woman&#8217;s identity has not been released.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is urged to contact South Traffic Division Detectives Elizarraraz or Kolke at 323-421-2577.
