{"id":503993,"date":"2026-10-22T08:46:24","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T08:46:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/503993\/"},"modified":"2026-10-22T08:46:24","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T08:46:24","slug":"how-far-will-fresno-drive-for-a-sweet-tomatoes-buffet-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/503993\/","title":{"rendered":"How far will Fresno drive for a Sweet Tomatoes buffet?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How much does Fresno love <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweettomatoes.com\/\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sweet Tomatoes<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>A lot \u2014 but not enough to drive more than four hours just to go to one.<\/p>\n<p>We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/bethany-clough\/article317557069.html\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently told you about Sweet Tomatoes coming back to California<\/a> \u2014 technically its sister restaurant Souplantation \u2014 with the announcement of plans to reopen its popular buffet south of Los Angeles in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Click to resize<\/p>\n<p>And since Fresno <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fresnobee.com\/living\/food-drink\/bethany-clough\/article316020526.html\" rel=\"Follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">went crazy when rumors surfaced<\/a> about Sweet Tomatoes possibly reopening in Fresno (they were false), we asked Bee readers in a poll if they were willing to drive the four hours and 15 minutes, or even 4.5 hours through L.A. traffic GoogleMaps says it takes to get there.<\/p>\n<p>Most people \u2014 49% \u2014 said no, they\u2019re not willing to drive that far just to go to Sweet Tomatoes. Another 34% of readers said they would drive that far, but only if they were in southern California already as part of another trip.<\/p>\n<p>And 18% of Sweet Tomatoes fans are apparently diehards who would drive more than four hours to graze upon that buffet.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                                                Poll results for Fresnans\u2019 willingness to travel to a new Sweet Tomatoes.
