The Ducks (4-6-0) close out their four-game road trip with a visit to the Flyers (3-6-3) in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Puck drop is set for 10 a.m. PT and will be broadcast locally on Prime Video and FOXLA+ and nationally on NHL Network.<\/p>\n
Anaheim dropped its fifth consecutive game on Thursday, falling 4-1 to the Devils. Though they fell into a 2-0 hole in the first period, Tim Washe\u2019s goal in the third period brought the Ducks within one score. The Devils scored two subsequent goals, one being an empty netter, to close out the game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been behind early in games and we\u2019re trying to chase it to get back,\u201d head coach Joel Quenneville told NHL.com. \u201cEarly (in the losing streak) there were a couple games we should have got points. We haven\u2019t been very good on this trip. At the same time, we got to be better than we are.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re a little bit \u2026 I\u2019m going to say out of sorts. But it still felt that we had way more battle tonight than we had in the last couple of games.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Quenneville noted, playing from behind and starting slow has been a recurring theme to the Ducks\u2019 slump.<\/p>\n
But to turn it around, the team is focusing on the finer things, hoping that staying detailed-oriented will get them their first win of this trip.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’ve just got to be focused, we’ve got to be connected, and we’ve got to make sure that we check all the boxes, and that starts with simply mentally focusing on the small details,\u201d A.J. Greer said. \u201cWe have the offensive skill to produce in the O-zone, and being able to take care of the D-zone, the neutral zone, and defending hard will lead to good offense. So that’s our number one goal, is be connected, be ready to fight and battle hard, defend hard, and we’re going to get our O-zone opportunities, and then from there we’ve just got to finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’ve got to play our game, focus on what we have to do,\u201d Quenneville added. \u201cWe’re trying to get out of this trip we’re on and salvage a point or two. That\u2019s our focus. Everybody’s got to do the little things right.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Flyers started the season 0-6-3 before finally getting their first win last Saturday against the Senators. Since then, the team has been on a three-game winning streak and looks like they\u2019re \u201cback in the mix,\u201d according to Quenneville.<\/p>\n
Matvei Michkov and former Duck Trevor Zegras both have eight points on the season while Michkov leads the team in goals (6) and Zegras in assists (5).<\/p>\n
