A suspected drunken motorist has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run fatality crash in Garden Grove, authorities said Saturday.<\/p>\n
A witness followed the vehicle until it was ultimately stopped by Garden Grove police officers, said Garden Grove police Sgt. Thomas Capps.<\/p>\n
A witness called police about 11:15 p.m. Friday to report seeing a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Palm Avenue, Capps said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe vehicle was described as a white Cadillac SRX, which failed to stop at the collision,\u201d according to a police statement. \u201cThe witness followed the vehicle until it was ultimately stopped by Garden Grove offices.\u201d<\/p>\n
Paramedics rushed the pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman, to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe driver was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and impairment is believed to have been a contributing factor in this collision,\u201d according to the police statement.<\/p>\n
