With a week left until the midterm election, a court battle is playing out over the state\u2019s voter rolls. <\/p>\n

The federal government sued California<\/a>, alleging that possible noncitizens were registered voters, received mail-in ballots, and in some cases, voted. California is fighting the lawsuit with concerns around the timing of this. <\/p>\n

On Tuesday, a week until the election, a federal judge will determine the next steps. On California Politics 360, Ashley Zavala sat down with U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla<\/a>, who used to be California\u2019s secretary of state. <\/p>\n

We are one year away from the completion of the California Capitol Annex project<\/a>. The taxpayer-funded project has faced significant delays and secrecy. For months, Zavala requested a tour of the construction of the Annex. Project leaders said a tour was not feasible at this time. Zavala looks back at the decade-long history of the Capitol Annex project. <\/p>\n

Ahead of the general election in November, we are sitting down with candidates running for major statewide offices. This week, Zavala sits down with a candidate for treasurer, Jennifer Hawks<\/a>. <\/p>\n
