SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — More than 2,000 people took part in the San Francisco Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Bayfront Park in Mission Bay on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Our very own Zach Fuentes emceed the event for second year in the row.<\/p>\n

More than 140,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s or some form of dementia in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

“Who are you walking for? Why was it important for you to come out here,” asked ABC7 Eyewitness News reporter Zach Fuentes.<\/p>\n

“Well, my grandma had dementia. And that’s the first kind of time when I was introduced to this kind of disease,” said Nannette Wilkinson, Walker, Sage Eldercare.<\/p>\n

“And now I work in care management, and a lot of my clients have a form of dementia or Alzheimer’s. So it was really important for us to come out to represent our team.”<\/p>\n

More than $1.2 million have been raised for research, support and care programs.<\/p>\n
