{"id":508178,"date":"2026-10-26T06:52:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T06:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/508178\/"},"modified":"2026-10-26T06:52:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T06:52:12","slug":"caltrans-sandag-to-resume-rail-work-in-batiquitos-lagoon-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/508178\/","title":{"rendered":"Caltrans, SANDAG to Resume Rail Work in Batiquitos Lagoon This Weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN DIEGO (CNS) &#8211; Caltrans and San Diego Association of Governments construction crews will resume work within the Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad this weekend as part of a double-track project.<br \/>The work scheduled to begin 10 p.m. Saturday and continue through Sunday at 4 a.m. was previously scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 10, but was postponed due to inclement weather.<br \/>According to SANDAG, work will include rail destressing. Rail destressing is done to allow for the rail to expand and contract from temperature changes safely and is a critical operation for trackwork installation.
