{"id":508272,"date":"2026-10-26T09:42:12","date_gmt":"2026-10-26T09:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/508272\/"},"modified":"2026-10-26T09:42:12","modified_gmt":"2026-10-26T09:42:12","slug":"san-diego-county-under-coastal-flood-warning-nbc-7-san-diego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/508272\/","title":{"rendered":"San Diego County under coastal flood warning \u2013 NBC 7 San Diego"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A coastal flood warning went into effect this morning for the entire coast of San Diego County and will remain in effect until Thursday afternoon, with &#8220;significant flooding&#8221; expected from unusually high tides, forecasters said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated,&#8221; the National Weather Service said Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>No damage had been reported in San Diego County as of Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The NWS also said some shoreline erosion will occur in the morning hours and that coastal residents should be alert for rising water and take appropriate action to protect life and property. High tides each day will occur in the morning and may be anywhere from 1 to 1.7 feet above astronomical tide predictions, the NWS said.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Reminder that this started this morning! Avoid the beaches during high tides, keep farther back from the ocean than usual (waves will run much farther up the beach that expected), stay off rock walls\/jetties, and make sure flood-prone property is protected this week. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BdF623NRgd\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/BdF623NRgd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NWS San Diego (@NWSSanDiego) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NWSSanDiego\/status\/2114355290808475857?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">October 25, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Stay off of jetties and sea walls,&#8221; the agency added. &#8220;Avoid beaches during high tides. During high and rising tides, waves may run farther up the beach than expected. Stay far back from the water and never turn your back on the ocean.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The warning also stretches into Orange County.<\/p>\n<p>Away from the coast, warmer weather is expected in San Diego County through Monday before temperatures gradually cool during the middle of next week.
