Los Angeles County is the nation\u2019s housing hot spot for expensive neighborhoods, by one new ranking.<\/p>\n
My trusty spreadsheet found PropertyShark\u2019s annual count of the nation\u2019s priciest ZIP codes included 15 Los Angeles County ZIP codes among 122 in this costliest housing club, more than any other county in the U.S.<\/p>\n
PropertyShark\u2019s ranking of high-end communities<\/a> tracks pricing in ZIP codes with five or more sales in the nine months ended in September 2026. The math is the median pricing from sales of houses, townhomes, condominiums and duplexes. ZIPs in Montana, Texas, Utah and Wyoming were not included due to difficulty in tracking sales values in those states.<\/p>\n You can take the lofty ranking as another sign of how expensive it is to live in Los Angeles. Or you could see it as a symbol of the county\u2019s wealth.<\/p>\n Either way, after Los Angeles, this county scorecard ranked Santa Clara County No. 2, with 13 ZIP codes among the highest-priced. Then came Orange County with 12, New York\u2019s Suffolk County with 10, and San Mateo County and Connecticut\u2019s Fairfield County with seven.<\/p>\n How expensive are the homes in these ZIP codes? The 15 L.A. communities had a median sales price of $2.8 million.<\/p>\n Who made it?<\/p>\n For all the emotions tied to the California coast, it\u2019s intriguing to see where folks will spend the most.<\/p>\n PropertyShark\u2019s Los Angeles high-end group is a curious mix of ocean-close communities, mid-city living and some foothill neighborhoods.<\/p>\n Beverly Hills 90210 was Los Angeles County\u2019s priciest ZIP at $5.4 million. It ranked No. 8 nationally. The other 14 L.A. ZIPs on the costliest list:<\/p>\n \u2013 Santa Monica 90402 at $4.4 million, No. 16 nationally.<\/p>\n \u2013 Manhattan Beach 90266 at $3.5 million, No. 36.<\/p>\n \u2013 San Marino 91108 at $3.2 million, No. 45.<\/p>\n \u2013 Malibu 90265 at $2.89 million, No. 55.<\/p>\n \u2013 Bradbury 91008 at $2.88 million, No. 56.<\/p>\n \u2013 Los Angeles 90077 at $2.8 million, No. 63.<\/p>\n \u2013 Beverly Hills 90212 at $2.78 million, No. 64.<\/p>\n \u2013 Palos Verdes Peninsula 90274 at $2.47 million, No. 87.<\/p>\n \u2013 La Canada Flintridge 91011 at $2.456 million, No. 91.<\/p>\n \u2013 Hermosa Beach 90254 at $2.43 million, No. 94.<\/p>\n \u2013 Encino 91436 at $2.42 million, No. 96.<\/p>\n \u2013 Los Angeles 90049 at $2.3 million, No. 110.<\/p>\n \u2013 Los Angeles 90272 at $2.29 million, No. 115.<\/p>\n \u2013 Beverly Hills 90211 at $2.24 million, No. 118.<\/p>\n Stately status<\/p>\n Need another reminder that California housing is really expensive?<\/p>\n Well, 69 neighborhoods in the Golden State made PropertyShark\u2019s list<\/a>. That\u2019s easily No. 1, well ahead of New York\u2019s 20, New Jersey\u2019s 7, Connecticut\u2019s 7, and Massachusetts\u2019 five.<\/p>\n Also, the nation\u2019s costliest ZIP code for 2026 is a Golden State neighborhood: The Bay Area\u2019s Atherton 94027 at $10.7 million.<\/p>\n Or contemplate minor progress on affordability.
