(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office has identified a<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/driver-booked-in-kern-county-jail-after-fatal-hit-and-run-on-brundage-lane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> man who died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk against a red light on Brundage Lane <\/a>as 79-year-old Robert Henry.<\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department said on October 9th, 2026, at around 10:18 p.m., officers were called to the 900 block of Brundage Lane regarding a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they found Henry in the roadway suffering severe injuries. Medical aid arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/driver-booked-in-kern-county-jail-after-fatal-hit-and-run-on-brundage-lane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Driver booked in Kern County Jail after fatal hit-and-run on Brundage Lane<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The driver of the involved vehicle, later identified as 29-year-old Patience Ervin, left the scene after the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a preliminary investigation found the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk but against a red light. Ervin was traveling westbound, proceeding through a green light when the crash happened.<\/p>\n<p>Police said speed and impairment were not factors.<\/p>\n<p>Ervin was subsequently booked into the Kern County Jail for hit-and-run resulting in death.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
