What\u2019s behind the construction the barricades near McDonald\u2019s at Clovis and Shaw avenues?<\/p>\n

Construction vehicles are digging up dirt for the next new chain coffee drive-thru. It\u2019s not a Dutch Bros, not a Starbucks, but a 7 Brew Drive Thru Coffee<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a drive-thru-only coffee spot at the southwest corner, built in an empty parking lot between McDonald\u2019s and El Pollo Loco.<\/p>\n

Its Clovis location will be one of the first in California.<\/p>\n

The Arkansas-based company has been exploding with new locations across the Southwest, particularly in Texas and Arizona. It has more than 900 locations in 38 states.<\/p>\n

The Clovis location will be 910 square feet with a double drive-thru lane<\/a> that can hold up to 13 cars, according to a permit approved by the Clovis Planning Commission. Employees walk out to cars to take orders and deliver drinks to keep the line moving.<\/p>\n

It will have outdoor seating, but no indoor seating.<\/p>\n

If the construction process is anything like the location in the works for Visalia<\/a>, a small prefabricated building will be lifted into place by a crane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So what is 7 Brew?<\/p>\n

The company has a concept similar to Dutch Bros business model. It offers highly customizable drinks, made with espresso, energy drinks, half-and-half and all kinds of sweet flavors.<\/p>\n

Its most popular drink is the Blondie, made with espresso, half-and-half, vanilla and caramel syrup. It can be served hot, iced or \u201cfrozen chiller.\u201d That last one is a blended iced drink that tops out at 760 calories.<\/p>\n

At 7 Brew, baristas are called \u201cbrewistas,\u201d (not to be confused with Dutch Bros \u201cbroistas) and its tagline is \u201cCultivate Kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The coffee drive-thru also has milkshakes on the menu, including an orange sherbet, salted caramel and rocky road shakes.<\/p>\n

Messages to 7 Brew about when it would open were not immediately returned.<\/p>\n
