Police say a San Jose man went after his neighbor with a machete on Sunday morning, then barricaded himself inside his home for hours.<\/p>\n

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — Police say a San Jose man went after his neighbor with a machete on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

It happened on Naples Drive, near the Target on Story Road, around 9 a.m.<\/p>\n

The suspect had barricaded himself in his own home and refused to come out for seven hours before he was eventually taken into custody around 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The victim was transferred to the hospital and released later that day. He says he feels lucky to be alive.<\/p>\n

“But I was more scared in the morning, because I could see that there was a lot of blood there. But I’m OK. I’m OK now. I’m lucky, for I was a survivor today,” said Alberto, the victim who received stitches on his head from the attack.<\/p>\n

The victim says this is not the first time this neighbor has threatened him and has been dealing with multiple issues for the past years. He previously had a restraining order against the suspect.<\/p>\n
