SAN FRANCISCO—Around 1:06 a.m. on October 25, San Francisco Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of Ellis Street in the city’s Tenderloin District after receiving a report of a traffic collision in which a vehicle struck a pedestrian. At the scene, officers found an injured man with life-threatening injuries and provided medical aid. When paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department arrived, they transported the victim to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Police officers determined the driver fled the scene before they arrived. Soon, detectives from the SFPD Homicide Detail arrived, and they began a homicide investigation that involved tracking the vehicle, which was located in Treasure Island. There, detectives discovered the vehicle had been stopped for another traffic violation by California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, who were informed of the homicide under investigation. SFPD officers determined they had probable cause to arrest the driver, an adult woman, and towed the vehicle from the scene for evidence collection.

She was taken to the San Francisco County Jail and processed for homicide, a violation of Section 187(a) of the California Penal Code. The driver’s name has not been released to the public because of the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by the Homicide Detail, and neither has the victim’s name. Anyone with information should call SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or text TIP411.

SAN FRANCISCO—Around 1:06 a.m. on October 25, San Francisco Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of…

[30
723,972,101,103,102,104,106,105,165338
post-509162","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-francisco","tag-crime","tag-local","tag-san-francisco","tag-san-francisco-headlines","tag-san-francisco-news","tag-sf","tag-sf-headlines","tag-sf-news","tag-tenderloin-district
["GET
