(FOX 5\/KUSI) &#8212; The annual &#8220;Bike the Coast&#8221; event on Saturday saw more than 1,300 participants biking across the San Diego County coast to raise money for the National\u00a0Multiple Sclerosis Society.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cyclists of all ages had multiple routes to choose from, from\u00a015-mile family rides to 100-mile rides.\u00a0Bike the Coast raised over $10,000 for the <a data-ylk=\"slk:National MS Society;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalmssociety.org\/understanding-ms\/what-is-ms\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">National MS Society<\/a>, an organization supporting MS cure research and other advocacy. The event was produced by\u00a0Spectrum Sports Management.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This event is truly an iconic ride that showcases beautiful North County San Diego with an incredibly supportive community,&#8221; CEO of Spectrum Sports Management\u00a0Mike Bone said in a news release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Bike the Coast 2026 raised over $10,000 for the National MS Society. (Bike the Coast)<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Those on the 25-, 50- and 100-mile paths biked through North County\u00a0coastal towns such as Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar.\u00a0Cyclists on the seven- and 15-mile routes went through the San Luis Rey River Trail.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">MS is a disease that impacts the central nervous system, causing symptoms like fatigue, memory\u00a0issues and mood changes. Additionally, an estimated one million people in the U.S. have MS, according to <a data-ylk=\"slk:Bike the Coast;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bikethecoastsd.com\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Bike the Coast<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bike the Coast organizers said this is the second year in a row that they raised over $10,000 for Bike MS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Every year I look forward to working with the local organizations to put on an event that provides the opportunity for others to see such a beautiful coast and raise money for a great cause,&#8221;\u00a0Bone said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
