Greece, N.Y. \u2014 The long-vacant Crescent Beach restaurant property in Greece is headed to foreclosure auction next month, nearly two years after its former owner agreed to surrender the property as part of a federal fraud case.<\/p>\n
Eight parcels along Edgemere Drive will be auctioned Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Monroe County Hall of Justice in Rochester, according to a notice of sale filed Wednesday in Monroe County Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
The auction comes after a judge approved the foreclosure sale Oct. 20 as part of a lawsuit filed by Casciani Construction Company Inc. against Wexford Glen LLC and several others.<\/p>\n
Court documents list an approximate judgement of $1.82 million, plus interest and costs. The parcels may be sold together or separately.<\/p>\n
The restaurant has been closed since 2013. Former owner Katherine Mott-Formicola had planned to reopen it before pleading guilty in 2024 to federal financial institution fraud and money laundering in connection with a nearly $19 million check-kiting scheme. Her plea agreement required her to surrender the property through a federal forfeiture process.<\/p>\n
