A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle near the Belmont Shore community in Long Beach, authorities said Saturday.<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched at about 11 p.m. Friday to the 6400 block of Pacific Coast Highway, near Second Street, regarding an injury collision, according to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when he entered the intersection of East Second Street,\u201d police said. \u201cThe motorcyclist collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound on East Second Street. At this time, speed is being investigated as a contributing factor to this collision,\u2019 the department added.<\/p>\n
Arriving paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, LBPD Sgt. Laurie Barajas said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police added.<\/p>\n
