The San Diego Gulls fell to the Henderson Silver Knights in overtime at Lee\u2019s Family Forum tonight, 2-1.\u00a0<\/p>\n
With just 2.7 seconds remaining in regulation, San Diego\u00a0found the back of the net to tie the game up and avoid consecutive shutout losses. Every Gulls skater on the ice played a role in the late push to equalize the score, but Lucas Pettersson was the one to find the back of the net. Pettersson has tallied three goals this season,\u00a0giving him 3-1=4 points in his last\u00a0four games. Matt Basgall tallied his first assist of the season on the play with the primary while James Hamblin found his third with the secondary.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The late efforts led the Gulls to add one point to their tally, as the team could not beat the Silver Knights to the net in overtime. San Diego was able to put two shots on during the extra time and now hold a 1-3 record in overtime play.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tomas Suchanek made his second start between the pipes this season and played a crucial role in keeping the Gulls in the game. Suchanek stopped 25-of-27 shots, bringing his season GAA to 1.47 with a .948 SV%. Tonight marked his second overtime appearance, and he now holds a record of 1-0-1 through two starts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The first period went scoreless but there was still some action. Jett Woo dropped the gloves with Henderson\u2019s Tuomas Uronen, each receiving five-minute majors. Woo has collected 15 PIM in 12 games played, ranking second among all Gulls skaters this season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
San Diego looks to bounce back and earn a win as they return home to Pechanga Arena San Diego on Wednesday, Nov. 11 to take on the San Jose Barracuda (7 p.m. PST).\u00a0<\/p>\n
