The Outlets at Orange<\/a> shopping center is getting a host of new merchants by year\u2019s end, with two brands moving to bigger formats.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look at who\u2019s coming or returning to the outdoor mall by the 22 freeway and the once notorious \u201cOrange Crush.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Opening in September<\/p>\n

Moida<\/a>: The K-beauty brand features Korean skincare and beauty brands.<\/p>\n

Tenshoppe<\/a>: The LA-based women\u2019s fashion brand was created by the family that created Forever 21. It features an affordable West Coast vibe.<\/p>\n

Noi Noa<\/a>: A charm bar with an accessories collection. It will be the second store in the region.<\/p>\n

Chocolate Bash<\/a>: Crepes, waffles and chocolate-dipped delights are the centerpiece at Chocolate Bash. The company recently was honored with a Small Woman-Owned Business of the Year award<\/a> by the Small Business Administration.<\/p>\n

Opening by the holidays<\/p>\n

Skechers: Shifting to a new location at the mall, the shoe retailer will be almost six times larger than its current store. FYI: Its current store is still open next to Torrid.<\/p>\n

Vans: The iconic shoemaker for skaters is opening a new location but is still open in its temporary location across from Market Broiler.<\/p>\n

By end of year<\/p>\n

Barnes & Noble: The full-service bookstore is relocating from its previous home<\/a> (which partially burned<\/a>) on Main Street across from MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana. The new store is taking the place of the former Vans Skatepark at the retail center.<\/p>\n

\nSee\u2019s Candies opens at South Coast Plaza<\/p>\n

California\u2019s favorite bon-bon maker See\u2019s Candies opened at South Coast Plaza.<\/p>\n

The store debuted Saturday at the Carousel Court. Look for it next to Swarovski and babyGap Kids and across from the LEGO store.<\/p>\n

The 104-year-old Los Angeles company also has a store in the Macy\u2019s wing, also known as South Coast Plaza West, across the pedestrian bridge.<\/p>\n

See\u2019s has six shops in the vicinity in addition to the newest at South Coast.<\/p>\n

The sweet and savory Go Greek Yogurt<\/a> is open in Newport Beach.<\/p>\n

The store, just a short walk to Coast Highway serves frozen or classic yogurt with toppings that include either fruit or salad. Other menu options<\/a> include smoothies and bowls.<\/p>\n

The Greek yogurt company was launched by Tanja Subotic in Beverly Hills in 2012. The Newport Beach store is the first franchise for Go Greek Yogurt with Tim Littman and Eduardo Licona taking the helm in Orange County. It\u2019s the company\u2019s fourth location in California and 13th worldwide.<\/p>\n

\nAnaheim Feed coming to Costa Mesa<\/p>\n

Costa Mesa continues to bring in new retailers, this time Anaheim Feed and Pet Supply<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pet food and supply store confirmed last week that it is coming to a shuttered Seiwa Market.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Register, the company said the store, which should be open later this year, marks its second for the family-owned company.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur original \u201cbig yellow warehouse\u201d on Lemon Street in Anaheim will remain open and continues to be the heart of our business,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf all goes according to plan, we\u2019re aiming for a grand opening toward the end of 2025. As the date approaches, we\u2019ll begin hiring for the Costa Mesa store.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interested applicants can watch for openings at anaheimfeed.com\/pages\/career-opportunities<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anaheim Feed opened nearly 80 years ago in 1946. It dropped \u201c&Seed\u201d when it moved in 1978 from downtown Anaheim to its big yellow building on Lemon Street. Curiously, this part of Anaheim is surrounded by Fullerton on three sides.<\/p>\n

Costa Mesa is also expecting a new Trader Joe\u2019s<\/a>, the second for the city. The fan-favorite grocery store from Monrovia is coming to a vacant 99 Cents Only Store at 2180 Harbor Blvd.<\/p>\n

New stores at South Coast Collection<\/a> include top-tier appliance and fixtures retailer Ferguson Homes, the smashburger eatery Palms n\u2019 Patties and the furniture maker Joybird.<\/p>\n

Two employees at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County recently were promoted to director-level roles. Malia Cary was promoted to director of Government Affairs and Community Relations. She started with the nonprofit\u2019s volunteer team in 2021 and recently served as the Government & Public Affairs Manager. Rachel Parris, who joined the food bank in May last year, was promoted to director of Sourcing. Her experience includes food rescue operations, strategic sourcing partnerships and compliance with California Senate Bill 1383 which is focused on reducing organic waste sent to landfills.<\/p>\n

Beach timeshares up for grabs: Orange County\u2019s treasurer is auctioning 114 coastal timeshares<\/a> to recoup unpaid tax bills.\u00a0To bid, registrants must pay a non-refundable $35 fee and a refundable deposit of $100 by 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. Minimum bids on the timeshares range from $100-$500, down from the minimum of $1,000 set during the June offering. The timeshares belong to Marriott\u2019s Newport Coast Villas,<\/a>\u00a0Laguna Shores,<\/a> San Clemente Cove<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0San Clemente Inn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These classic cars still need to smog: Lawmakers in Sacramento killed a bill supported by car collector and comedian Jay Leno that would have exempted certain classic cars from the state\u2019s smog-check requirements<\/a>. The Assembly Appropriations Committee on Aug. 29 blocked Senate Bill 712 from advancing for a full vote. The proposal, dubbed \u201cLeno\u2019s Law,\u201d would have exempted owners of classic cars made before 1981 from paying for emissions tests every two years.\u00a0The exemptions would have applied only to cars with special \u201chistorical vehicle\u201d license plates and insured as a \u201ccollector motor vehicle,\u201d according to CalMatters<\/a>.<\/p>\n
