{"id":53789,"date":"2025-11-15T01:23:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T01:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/53789\/"},"modified":"2025-11-15T01:23:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T01:23:15","slug":"long-beach-man-accused-of-killing-mother-of-his-5-children-then-taking-body-to-mexico-daily-breeze","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/53789\/","title":{"rendered":"Long Beach man accused of killing mother of his 5 children, then taking body to Mexico \u2013 Daily Breeze"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Long Beach man is accused by authorities of killing a Long Beach woman he was involved with during an argument and then taking her body to Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the two were in a dating relationship, while a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/rvtthk-unexpected-death\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GoFundMe<\/a> identified the suspect as the father of the women\u2019s five children, ranging in age from 16 to 26.<\/p>\n<p>Police say they believe a domestic dispute happened on Nov. 8 in Long Beach in a car, with Erik Alcantar, 44, then driving to Tijuana, where he turned himself into authorities that day.<\/p>\n<p>Mexican authorities found the body of Aracely Romero, 45, in the car, Long Beach police said.<\/p>\n<p>One of her sons <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/man-allegedly-killed-woman-long-beach-smuggled-body-baja-california-mexican-prosecutors-say\/18144367\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told ABC7<\/a> his father called that night and allegedly admitted to killing Romero. The suspect also allegedly told his son he would hide the body and surrender to authorities, the son said.<\/p>\n<p>His parents had argued as Romero was driving Alcantar to work that afternoon, the son told the station.<\/p>\n<p>Four days later, the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office charged Alcantar with one count of murder, court records show.<\/p>\n<p>As of Friday, police said, Alcantar remained in custody in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChely was the light of our family \u2014 the one who loved without limits, gave without asking, and carried everyone\u2019s burdens with grace and kindness,\u201d a GoFundMe post said. \u201cShe had the purest heart, always finding ways to make people smile, always putting others before herself. To know her was to feel warmth, love, and safety. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, our nephews and niece are facing a pain no child should ever have to endure,\u201d the post said. \u201cThey lost their mom who was their rock, and their safe place. In one moment, they lost both of their parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police asked anyone with information about the case to call homicide detectives at 562-570-7244.
