Looking for the perfect charcuterie board to use at your holiday get-together or want handcrafted ornaments for the tree? The San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association<\/a> has you covered with its upcoming holiday gift sale.<\/p>\n

The nonprofit organization\u2019s annual shopping event, which features pieces handmade by San Diego\u2019s growing community of woodworkers, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22 at its member shop, 5360 Eastgate Mall, Suite E in the Miramar area, near I-805. There is ample free parking.<\/p>\n

With the slogan \u201cFrom our hands to your home,\u201d the sale will include a wide range of items available for purchase. Shoppers can find cheese boards, pepper mills, serving trays and lathe-turned bowls for dining needs; games and children\u2019s toys; floor and desk lamps; and seasonal decorations.<\/p>\n

The SDFWA is one of the largest woodworking clubs in the country and has grown to more than 1,000 members. It is the same organization that presents the national, juried Design in Wood<\/a> exhibition each summer at the San Diego County Fair, which showcases hundreds of entries from across the country.<\/p>\n

New members are welcome, and the association offers a variety of classes, including an \u201cintro to woodworking\u201d series. Shop members have access to table saws, jointers, planers, drum sanders, drill presses, router tables, lathes, CNC machines, laser machines, a 3D printer and more. In addition, there are groups devoted to special woodworking interests, open to all members: toys, fundamentals, luthiers, carvers, epoxy, digital tools, hand tools and so on.<\/p>\n

Expand<\/a><\/p>\n

Proceeds from the sale help fund the club\u2019s member shop in the Miramar area and go toward supporting skill-building classes for members. The member shop is expanding into adjacent warehouse space, giving participants more than 10,000 square feet of woodworking space.<\/p>\n

The SDFWA is an all-volunteer group, with member volunteers running all aspects of the shop, including teaching classes, maintaining machines, supervising shop operations and administration.<\/p>\n
