Choosing when to visit will essentially come down to personal preference. For those who want prime, hot beach weather, summer is ideal, but it also comes with the biggest crowds. Winter, meanwhile, brings cooler temperatures that fall into the 60s and some rain, but off-season bargains. Spring and autumn typically offer the mildest temperatures, ranging from the mid-60s to the mid-70s. While prices won’t be as low as those in winter, they’re likely to drop from peak summer rates.<\/p>\n Montecito makes for one of the best day trips from Los Angeles<\/a>, with a drive of under two hours, depending on traffic.\u00a0You’ll find\u00a0plenty to do without the need for an overnight stay. However, for those coming from a bit further away or who prefer not to drive, there are several public transit options available. Amtrak’s Santa Barbara station, for instance, is less than 15 minutes away by car. Santa Barbara Municipal Airport is the closest option for regional flights, serviced by several commercial airlines, and is also a short drive from Montecito (less than 30 minutes).<\/p>\n Finally, there’s a range of places to stay within Montecito proper.
