The 2028 Olympic Games are just around the corner \u2014 and the schedule of events set to get underway in Long Beach is finally out.<\/p>\n
The city will host a total of 11 sporting events throughout the duration of the 2028 games, and 161 ticked events scheduled for 17 of the 19 days the Olympics will take place, the city said in a Thursday, Nov. 14 press release.<\/p>\n
The Olympic Games will get underway from July 14 to July 30, 2028 with the Paralympic Games set to run Aug. 15 through Aug. 27 that year.<\/p>\n
Several of the events will take place at existing locations in Long Beach, with others set to happen at temporary venues that will be built for the Games.<\/p>\n
One of the venues, for example, will be the Long Beach Aquatics Center \u2014 a temporary open-air stadium that\u2019ll be constructed in the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center parking lot.<\/p>\n

The Long Beach Climbing Theater, similarly, will be a temporary open-air venue also located in the Convention Center parking lot; and the city will construct a temporary Alamitos Beach Stadium to host beach volleyball.<\/p>\n
Other sports, like target shooting, will be hosted inside the Convention Center \u2014 but many of Long Beach\u2019s events will be water-based and hosted at existing venues like Marine Stadium and in the city\u2019s coastal waters.<\/p>\n

\nTarget shooting: Long Beach Target Shooting Hall, July 15 through 25.
\nBeach volleyball: Alamitos Beach Stadium, July 15 through 29.
\nSailing (windsurfing and kite): Belmont Shore waters, July 16 through 20.
\nOpen water swimming: Belmont Shore waters, July 17 through 18.
\nRowing coastal beach sprints: Belmont Shore waters, July 24 through 25.
\nSport climbing: Long Beach Climbing Theater, July 24 through 29.
\nArtistic swimming: Long Beach Aquatics Center, July 25 through 29.
\nCanoe sprint: Marine Stadium, 5255 E. Paoli Way, July 25 through 29.<\/p>\n

Registration to purchase tickets for the Olympics, meanwhile, is set to open in January 2026, according to LA28.<\/p>\n
