A Chino Hills neighborhood was evacuated Sunday following an explosion at a home that injured several people, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The explosion was reported around 5 p.m. at the residence on Sierra Vista Drive.<\/p>\n
The home went up in flames due to a possible gas leak, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Video shared with NBC4 showed flames in the exterior of the home despite light rain in the area.<\/p>\n
Four people were transported to a hospital, and four others, possibly injured, transported themselves to a hospital prior to first responders arriving. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
Sierra Vista Drive to Del Norte Avenue was evacuated out of precaution. At least 16 homes in the vicinity were evacuated, according to Chino Valley Fire.<\/p>\n
