In a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kevinolearytv\/status\/1928471653261918713\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:post on X;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">post on X<\/a>, he said affordability has dropped so sharply that what used to buy you a spacious three-bedroom home now barely gets you into a trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">\u201cAffordability is down about 40%,\u201d O\u2019Leary said. \u201cIn other words, you\u2019ve got to buy a house with 40% less square footage and pay the same amount on it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Don&#8217;t Miss:<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">According to O\u2019Leary, mortgages are still the number one factor affecting home affordability, but now insurance and taxes are making things worse. \u201cYou combine the insurance cost with the taxes plus the mortgage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">In high-risk states like California, insurance has become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/real-estate\/24\/12\/42679481\/florida-in-particular-is-going-to-have-huge-problems-mark-cuban-says-1-housing-affordability-issue-is-insurance-not-interest-rates?utm_campaign=partner_feed&amp;utm_source=yahooFinance&amp;utm_medium=partner_feed&amp;utm_content=real_estate&amp;nid=48902433\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:massive burden;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">massive burden<\/a>. \u201cIf it isn\u2019t earthquake, it\u2019s flooding. Now you got fire. Forget about it.
