closed a local doughnut shop, a fast food restaurant and three other eateries after discovering hundreds of rodent droppings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Health inspectors also closed a Sacramento boba shop after spotting cockroaches crawling up a wall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In addition, local restaurants including a pizzeria and a Chipotle Mexican Grill location received yellow placards for health code violations including slime, dirty soda nozzles and \u201cpotentially hazardous foods\u201d at unsafe temperatures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">While a yellow placard signals two or more major violations, these are typically corrected or mitigated during the inspection, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/emd.saccounty.gov\/EH\/Documents\/Inspection%20Guide%2010-24-24.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sacramento County Retail Food Inspection Guide.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sacramento County Retail Food Inspection Guide.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A red placard, however, signals \u201cimminent danger to public health and safety\u201d and suspends the health permit until violations are corrected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This could include, but is not limited to, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/local\/article288124385.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:major vermin contamination;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">major vermin contamination<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In contrast, a green placard means a restaurant passed inspection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The county performs about 14,000 inspections annually, with 97% of establishments passing, spokesman Ken Casparis previously told The Sacramento Bee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Approximately 1% of inspections result in a closure, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There were the results of Sacramento County food facility inspections for Thursday, Nov. 6, through Wednesday, Nov. 12, as of Thursday, Nov. 13 afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg href=\"https:\/\/www.aimeesbobacafe.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sacramento boba tea shop;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sacramento boba tea shop<\/a> after finding five German cockroaches \u2014 including two live nymphs \u201ccrawling up\u201d the wall by and on the small prep table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inspectors also spotted roaches below the three-compartment sink and on the ceiling by the two-door upright freezer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The milk at the one-door upright cooler was at an improper holding temperature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The water at the three-compartment sink didn\u2019t get hot enough to be but employees did not answer the phone.<\/p>\n<p>Mouse droppings, slime at fast food restaurant<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a droppings beneath the three-compartment sink, chest freezer and shelving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The bakery had no handwashing soap at the handwashing station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A small, unattended bowl of hydrated waffle mix on the prep table measured outside the temperature range considered safe.<\/p>\n<p inspectors found one \u201cgnawed-open bag of flour\u201d and urine stains behind the merchandiser shelves, the Nov. 12 report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inspectors found broken vacuum-seal packaging for hot dogs in the walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The ice machine chute had an accumulation of \u201cbrown slime,\u201d according to the report. This was a repeat violation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Additionally, there was white scale buildup on the interior walls of the ice machine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There was a gap at the side of the walk-in cooler\u2019s door opening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The propane tanks by the ice machine break-words\">Health inspectors spotted holes in the walls behind the water heater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Quick Shop Market had yet to be reinspected as of Thursday, Nov. 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Bee reached out to the convenience store for comment on Thursday, but employees did not answer the phone.<\/p>\n<p>Too-warm chicken, unlabeled food at local pizzeria<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a href=\"https:\/\/inspections.myhealthdepartment.com\/sacramento\/print\/?task=getPrintable&amp;path=sacramento&amp;pKey=A2C9F116-C035-4EF1-AAEA-378480AEB19A%2CA2C9F116-C035-4EF1-AAEA-378480AEB19A\" had eight violations on Friday, Nov. 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Health inspectors cited the <a href=\"https:\/\/bollywoodpizza.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sacramento pizzeria;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sacramento pizzeria<\/a> after paneer cheese, cut tomatoes and chicken toppings measured too warm to be considered safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There was \u201cold food debris\u201d on the onion slicer, tin blade cutter and mushroom cutter machine, according to the Nov. 7 report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inspectors also spotted old food debris on the walk-in cooler door handle and the floor of the dough walk-in cooler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dust and grease had accumulated on the hood filters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Two containers of ingredients on a dry storage shelf didn\u2019t have labels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">No toilet paper was available during the inspection, and two toilet paper holders needed to be repaired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The restaurant did not have a California food safety certificate or California food handler cards available for rodent droppings\u201d inside the bar and around the water heater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inspectors \u201cstrongly\u201d recommended that Smokey Oaks Tavern hire a professional pest control service, according to the Nov. 6 report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Several \u201cpotentially hazardous foods\u201d measured outside of proper holding temperatures, including grilled onions and cooked beef, the report said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The restaurant was inadequately reheating foods inside the steam table, including black beans, tomato sauce and mashed potatoes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The interior of the ice machine had \u201cexcessive slime,\u201d inspectors said, and there were heavily stained, hard-to-clean cutting boards on the counter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Fan guards inside the walk-in cooler were heavily covered with mold, a repeat violation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The floor sink under the handwashing sink at the food preparation line was clogged and filled with wastewater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Inspectors described that handwashing station as \u201cunusable\u201d due to a lack of soap, a non-functioning hot water faucet and other factors. This was a repeat violation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There was no toilet paper in the employees\u2019 restroom, another repeat violation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The restaurant didn\u2019t have an employee with a food safety certificate, and California food handler cards were not available for review at the time of the inspection.
