{"id":62791,"date":"2025-11-20T23:16:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T23:16:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/62791\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T23:16:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T23:16:11","slug":"toddler-hospitalized-for-fentanyl-overdose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/62791\/","title":{"rendered":"Toddler hospitalized for fentanyl overdose"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Two people were arrested after an 18-month-old was found unresponsive from what officials described as \u201can accidental overdose\u201d of fentanyl Wednesday at a Treasure Island residence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">The toddler was hospitalized Thursday in unknown condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Officers arrived at a Cravath Street home Wednesday at 1:23 p.m. after receiving a medical call and discovered the child unresponsive, the San Francisco Police Department said Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">A San Francisco Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that dispatchers were told of a reported fentanyl overdose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">The child appeared alert in video footage shared by <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7news.com\/post\/baby-taken-hospital-reported-fentanyl-overdose-treasure-island-san-francisco-fire-department-says\/18177722\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ABC7 (opens in new tab)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Officers arrested Precious Watson, 33, and Eric Brooks, 34, on suspicion of child endangerment. Brooks also faces charges of possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia and an out-of-county warrant. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">San Francisco has sought to reduce the harm from fentanyl and other opioids for years.
