Expand<\/a><\/p>\n A historic Long Beach home on the Naples Island waterfront featuring a rare, private marina is on the market for $10.75 million.<\/p>\n Completed in 1948 and recently updated, this 6,182-square-foot residence boasts five bedrooms and bathrooms, a walk-in wet bar and a center courtyard with a kidney-shaped pool. Records show the current owner is a limited liability company, which purchased the home for $8.4 million in August 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is one of the most expansive homes in all of Naples, and the iconic stature and unique history make it just that much more desirable,\u201d said co-listing agent Ben Fisher of The California Real Estate Company.<\/p>\n The house was originally designed by local architect George M. Montierth as an executive\u2019s retreat for entertaining corporate guests during the coastal city\u2019s postwar boom years. It previously belonged to late Olympic sailor Charles M. Kober, whose family sold the property to the current owner.<\/p>\n Kober and his wife, Adra, emerged in the late 1970s as prominent figures in international yachting. With Los Angeles preparing to host the 1984 Summer Olympics and Long Beach designated as the sailing venue, the Kobers\u2019 waterfront home became a gathering place, according to Sailing World magazine<\/a>. They welcomed officials and competitors in town for meetings and racing regattas in the years leading up to the international games.<\/p>\n The property encompasses over a quarter-acre lot, which is large for a neighborhood where a standard lot is under 4,000 square feet, Fisher added.<\/p>\n Inside the home, a glass panel above the front door lights up the soaring 20-foot entry hall. It leads to a wood-paneled living room anchored by a marble fireplace. Glass walls frame views of the water.<\/p>\n Other amenities include a walk-in wet bar, a formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen.<\/p>\n The house also features two primary suites, one with a marble fireplace. Both suites include walk-in closets, vanity areas and spa-inspired bathrooms.<\/p>\n A guest house with a full bathroom adds to the accommodations.<\/p>\n
