California\u2019s next governor has two jobs. One, keep the worst president in history out of our homes, out of our streets, and out of our lives,\u201d wrote Swalwell in a post to his website. \u201cThe second job of Governor is to bring a new California. It\u2019s great that we can say we are the fourth largest economy in the world. But what does that mean if you work your ass off and don\u2019t have a stake in it? Nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swalwell, who served on the Jan. 6 committee and worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/news\/topic\/donald-trump\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s first impeachment inquiry in 2019, recently joined a list of the president\u2019s political foes who have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/trump-administration-refers-rep-eric-swalwell-to-doj-report_n_691649a4e4b0dd708f3a121a\" target=\"_blank\" role=\"link\" class=\" js-entry-link cet-internal-link\" data-vars-item-name=\"been targeted\" data-vars-item-type=\"text\" data-vars-unit-name=\"691ffdc9e4b071a086baa9e5\" data-vars-unit-type=\"buzz_body\" data-vars-target-content-id=\"691649a4e4b0dd708f3a121a\" data-vars-target-content-type=\"buzz\" data-vars-type=\"web_internal_link\" data-vars-subunit-name=\"article_body\" data-vars-subunit-type=\"component\" data-vars-position-in-subunit=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">been targeted<\/a> by the Justice Department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Rep.
