For BART riders, the reasons for commute service interruptions in recent months have been numerous. Fires near the track, computer network issues and electrical issues all have contributed to significant stoppages or delays.<\/p>\n
On Friday, it was vandalism. The agency that damage suspected to have been done by others to some of its equipment forced the closure of BART\u2019s service to and from Hayward to Lake Berryessa station in San Jose.<\/p>\n
Both the Orange Line and Green Line were serve riders traveling to and from those stations. Orange Line trains were going as far as Hayward, while Green Line trains were stopping at the Bayfair station.<\/p>\n
BART spokesperson Filippi said AC Transit busses were available at the closed-down stations to take passengers where they needed to go. rd and Berryessa.<\/p>\n
The Transbay Tube remained open, and service across the San Francisco Bay did not stop operating.<\/p>\n
BART has had ongoing service issues since May. Just last month<\/a>, BART endured two straight Mondays<\/a> in which issues interrupted the commute. A week before that<\/a>, the agency had to shut down one of its lines and suspend service on the other.<\/p>\n Computer equipment issues also caused a chaotic day in September<\/a> when the agency had a system-wide shutdown. BART also had to shut down all 50 of its stations<\/a> for nearly five hours in May.<\/p>\n In addition, BART had to close its Red Line<\/a> from Richmond to Millbrae on Aug.\u00a0 21, the first day that it started it\u2019s new Tap and Ride<\/a> system.<\/p>\n
