Yolo Bird Alliance offers a Field Trip to the Sacramento & Colusa National Wildlife Refuges on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
Leaders Genevieve Colborn and Kelli O\u2019Neill will guide a post-Thanksgiving field trip highlighting the spectacular winter birdlife of the Central Valley. Late November often brings outstanding birding conditions to the Sacramento and Colusa National Wildlife Refuges, where vast flocks of geese and ducks gather. Participants will also have good chances of seeing bald eagles and other raptors.<\/p>\n
The group will bird the auto tour loops at both refuges, with stops at the Sacramento NWR observation tower and the Colusa NWR observation deck. If the weather allows, leaders may add a short trail walk.<\/p>\n

Logistics & what to bring:<\/p>\n
Bring lunch, water, and dress in layers.
\nMost birding is by car, with a few short walks on\u00a0flat, mostly even terrain.
\nRestrooms are available at each refuge headquarters.
\nParticipants arrange their own transportation; drive time from Davis is about one hour each way.<\/p>\n

The group is limited to 12 participants in a maximum of four cars.<\/p>\n
A $6 one-day pass (per vehicle) or a National Parks\/Interagency Pass is required.
