One day after dropping an 11-9 decision to Biola in the semifinals the Golden Knights started fast and held off Fresno Pacific for a 17-12 win. Gannon hosted the 2025 WWPA Men&#8217;s Championship at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>Head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/coaches\/zarko-sadikovic\/1776\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"1776\" target=\"_blank\">Zarko Sadikovic<\/a>&#8216;s team, the No. 1 seed from the East Region, struggled on the attack on Saturday but they came out fast against No. 3W Fresno Pacific. The Sunbirds scored the opening goal of the match two-and-a-half minutes in but Gannon ran off the next four goals and never led by fewer than two goals after leading 4-2 after one period. They expanded the advantage to 8-4 at the half and held a 12-6 lead after three periods.<\/p>\n<p>Gannon finishes its third year in the WWPA with a third-place finish in 2023 and fourth place a year ago.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nTHREE GOLDEN KNIGHTS NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThree Golden Knights earned spots on the All-Tournament Team. <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/bator-mohacsi\/11048\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11048\" target=\"_blank\">Bator Mohacsi<\/a> (Budapest, Hungary\/) and <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/dillon-shaw\/11051\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11051\" target=\"_blank\">Dillon Shaw<\/a> (Salt Lake City, Utah\/Skyline) earned first team honors while <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/rajmund-farsang\/11042\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11042\" target=\"_blank\">Rajmund Farsang<\/a> (Eger, Hungary\/) landed on the second team.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nMOHACSI EXCELS AGAIN IN GOAL<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nMohacsi turned in another outstanding effort in goal, particularly over the first three periods when Gannon took a 12-6 lead. A sophomore, the native of Hungary finished with 12 saves and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nFARSANG, LIANTZIRIS COMBINE FOR NINE GOALS<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe sophomore tandem of <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/rajmund-farsang\/11042\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11042\" target=\"_blank\">Rajmund Farsang<\/a> (Eger, Hungary\/) and <a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/nikiforos-liantziris\/11045\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11045\" target=\"_blank\">Nikiforos Liantziris<\/a> (Athens, Greece\/) combined for nine goals. Farsang led the Golden Knights with five goals and three assists for eight points while Liantziris added five points on four goals and an assist.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nKOTSKAR WRAPS UP BRILLIANT CAREER<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/gannonsports.com\/sports\/mens-water-polo\/roster\/alexandros-kotskar\/11044\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11044\" target=\"_blank\">Alexandros Kotskar<\/a> (Voula, Greece\/Athinaiki Agogh) concluded his brilliant career on Sunday with two goals and an assist.
