Local Government<\/a><\/p>\n

Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of S. Gilbert Street and W. Orangethorpe Avenue on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at approximately 6:43 PM, regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.<\/p>\n

An adult male pedestrian was found injured in the roadway and was taken to a local hospital by Fullerton Fire Department personnel. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n

The driver of the vehicle, identified as a white Toyota Prius, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Preliminary reports indicate that the Prius was traveling southbound on S. Gilbert Street and was making a westbound turn onto W. Orangethorpe Avenue when it struck the pedestrian. Reports state that the pedestrian, who was pushing a wheelchair, was walking northbound in a marked crosswalk.<\/p>\n

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, including whether the pedestrian was crossing against a red \u201cdo not walk\u201d signal. Current investigations show no indication of alcohol or drugs as contributing factors.<\/p>\n

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Orange County Coroner\u2019s Office at a later date.<\/p>\n
