The Sacramento Kings (4-13) losing skid finally came to an end on Sunday night. After dropping eight straight, the Kings defeated the host Denver Nuggets<\/a> (who were playing on the second night of a back-to-back).<\/p>\n

Right before that moment was an all-time low. Losing to the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> 137-96 for their eighth straight loss caused a sense of chaos to rip through the Kings fanbase.<\/p>\n

NBA Insider Jake Fischer<\/a> came out following that game, reporting that all players on Sacramento\u2019s roster were available for trade aside from Keegan Murray and rookie Nique Clifford.<\/p>\n

Allen Stiles, host of The Allen Stiles Show, heard that and instantly thought of Keon Ellis. The fourth-year guard has been a hot-button topic among the fanbase, with a lack of consistent minutes drawing confusion.<\/p>\n

Not extending him this offseason felt like a clear sign of general manager Scott Perry\u2019s preferred direction with the impending unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we might need to get ready to say our goodbyes,\u201d Stiles said of Ellis on Monday\u2019s show.<\/p>\n

But, with him headed to the open market, what could the Kings get in return? Is Ellis destined to be a trade sweetener in a larger deal? Could they revisit the Jonathan Kuminga conversation with Golden State?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for Ellis and the Kings to part ways, though, as is the case for most of their roster.<\/p>\n

But by the time the 98-\u201999 season came around, the Kings had slipped back to also-ran status.<\/p>\n
