Yaroslav Askarov had yet another stellar performance for the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Sharks\u2019 goalie stepped up once again as he stopped 34 of 35 shots against the Boston Bruins. Askarov now owns a record of 7-1-0 for November<\/a>. He\u2019s got a 1.47 GAA and a .957 save %.<\/p>\n The only goalie that has come close to rivaling his performance is Minnesota Wild Goalie and fellow 2021 NHL Draftee Jesper Wallstedt.<\/p>\n Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky knows that he\u2019ll need both Askarov and Alex Nedeljkovic<\/a> to be successful this season. But besides that, Warsofsky knows that Askarov will be his go-to guy.<\/p>\n Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s confident, He\u2019s locked in,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cAgain, Ned\u2019s played really well, [too]. When you have two goalies going with this type of schedule, you\u2019ve got to balance it out. But Asky was outstanding tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n Outstanding is an understatement. The San Jose Sharks\u2019 goalie would be making more headlines if it weren\u2019t for Macklin Celebrini\u2019s<\/a> play. Celebrini was incredibly complimentary of Askarov postgame, making sure to give him the recognition he deserved.<\/p>\n He\u2019s just been unreal. You can\u2019t really put into words. He\u2019s our rock every night, and he\u2019s been incredible,\u201d Celebrini said. \u201cHe\u2019s just everywhere. You think you have him, and you don\u2019t. He\u2019s super-athletic. When you think you have him, you really don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n The highlight of the night for Askarov came midway through the second period as he robbed Bruins superstar David Pastrnak of a grade-A chance.<\/p>\n Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.<\/p>\n \u201cWe did a pre-scout and Geekie and Pastrnak [are] of the most dangerous guys on Boston,\u201d Askarov said. \u201cBoth are righties.
