Stopping at a museum store after browsing the numerous galleries is a must; the stores often sell creative souvenirs inspired by your favorite artists and exhibitions, making them perfect keepsakes or gifts for art and culture enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

Holiday shopping deals<\/a> are already starting, and Black Friday is just around the corner. In response to major Black Friday Deals, other industries have created their own discounts following Thanksgiving, including museum stores across the country. Museum Store Sunday is just like Black Friday, but for museums. On Sunday, November 30, you can expect four major San Francisco Art Museums to participate in the national event.e<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople want to shop locally but often don\u2019t know where to start,\u201d Said Colleen Higginbotham, president of MSA. \u201cMuseum stores make it easy by offering artisan-made goods year-round, serving as a one-stop destination for intentional gifts\u2014from birthdays to holidays and everything in between. Many museum stores also offer online shopping options, making it convenient to support creators and cultural institutions with every purchase.\u201d<\/p>\n

Multiple San Francisco museums are participating in the promotion, including the de Young, Museum of Honor, SFMOMA, and Asian Art Museum. The museum stores directly support museums, often helping fund exhibitions and educational events.<\/p>\n

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (the de Young and Legion of Honor) are offering 20% off the entire store for members and 10% off for non-members. You can also expect a trunk show by artist Kelley Hollis at the Legion of Honor, and a trunk show by the San Francisco Hat Company at the de Young. FAMSF also offers a large gift guide<\/a>, including books, jewelry, clothing, and more.<\/p>\n

SFMOMA has created a wonderful holiday gift guide<\/a> you can check out online before shopping in-store, with a range of gifts from art to creative supplies and books. The Asian Art Museum has an extensive store<\/a> you can browse online and in person, with a large selection of items.
